Our Tweed

Our tweeds are woven on a Yorkshire built Hattersley loom, one of which is over ninety years old.

It takes us four days to weave a bolt of cloth by hand. There are three miles of walking back and forth to create the initial warp by hand on a frame. Then we 'tie-in' the tweed, which involves tying over eight hundred knots. We can then begin to weave our unique cloth.

Our tweed and products are made in Scotland, combining luxury with provenance and we are the only producers of this type of tweed in the world.

Breanish Tweed were recently honoured to receive the Balvenie Masters of Craft Awards for Textiles.
